Technically, there is only one Savage podcast, the Savage Snow Podcast. However, recent opportunities for traveling and living in Asia (primarily Japan) have resulted in me deciding to offer another podcast feed consisting exclusively of the Japan content episodes.

For Japan enthusiasts who are wondering if they should subscribe to the main Savage Snow podcast feed instead of Savage Japan, there are 3 things to consider in making your decision.

1. You will get a little more Japan content by subscribing to Savage Snow, simply because my life is interwoven very deeply with Japan and it is becoming more and more so as time passes. Inevitably, I will touch on Japan topics occasionally in “non-Japan” episodes. The Japan feed will be limited to “Japan only” content.

2. For the foreseeable future, subscribing to the Savage Snow podcast will deliver exactly the same programming as the Savage Japan feed. My current travels and time in Japan presently are mandating that most everything I record is a Japan show. Subscribing to Savage Snow will allow you to automatically receive the few non-Japan episodes that come out in 2011. [assuming I don't podfade before then ]
By subscribing to Savage Snow now, you will be able to sample those shows when they start showing up without making any additional effort.
Incidentally, I have already recorded many film, snow, and water segments, but travels to Japan will take precedence in production until the start of 2011.

3. The future “non-Japan” episodes covering the topics of world travel (outside of Japan), independent filmmaking, creative technologies, snowboarding, whitewater kayaking and other outdoor adventures are not being produced to appeal only to hardcore enthusiasts of those topics. I’m recording soundseeing adventures and taking the audience with me into beautiful and amazing environments in Colorado (and elsewhere). It is my goal to present stories and adventures that are compelling to more than just the people that obsessively engage in the categories I cover.

That’s the end of my lengthy plea for fellow Japan enthusiasts to subscribe to the main “complete” Savage Snow feed instead of the “partial” Savage Japan feed.

If you still feel confidant you would only want to hear about my experiences exploring, studying, and living in Japan, I understand. You will be highly valued and appreciated as a listener of the Japan only feed, and though everything will not be available to you, the majority of my upcoming recordings will be. Most of the Savage Snow programming will be “Living in Japan” episodes in the immediate future.
